Look Amazing. Support our School.

Did you know that narwhals cannot be kept in captivity? This is one of the reasons GRCDC students chose the narwhal as their mascot back in 2019- NARWHALS ARE WILD AND FREE! NARWHALS ALSO LIVE IN COMMUNITY with one another- THEY NEED THEIR POD! AND, Narwhals just look so amazingly awesome!

A rare full-time teaching opportunity is open at Grand Rapids Child Discovery Center! We are a K-5, free, independent elementary school authorized by GVSU.

GRCDC is seeking a **Special Education Resource Teacher** to join our K–5 community. Candidates must hold a **special education endorsement**.

At GRCDC, special education is grounded in relationships, belonging, equity, and the belief that every child has incredible potential. Our resource teacher works closely with students, families, classroom teachers, and our support team to help children access learning, build confidence, and thrive.

And yes — even as a charter school, GRCDC teachers receive:
- MESSA insurance
- Salaries and steps aligned with the local district
- Participation in the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System — MPSERS
- A close-knit, creative, mission-driven school community
- Professional autonomy, genuine connection, and the chance to do deeply meaningful work

Everything to gain in terms of community, autonomy, and purpose — and nothing to lose.
