🌱For 55 years, Citizens' Environmental Coalition has worked to bring people together around environmental issues impacting the Houston Gulf Coast region.
We were honored to be recognized by the Harris County Commissioners Court with a resolution celebrating our 55th anniversary and decades of community collaboration, education, and environmental leadership in advance of World Environment Day.

This milestone reflects the many partners, volunteers, members, and community leaders who have shaped CEC over the years, and the work still ahead as we continue building a more resilient and sustainable region together.

Thank you to Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, Texas State Representative Gene Wu, Lisa Lin, LEED AP of Harris County Office of County Administration, Jennifer Hadayia, MPA of Air Alliance Houston, Nicole Cloutier, Doug Peterson and Rachel Powers for joining us in recognizing this milestone!

Investing in people means investing in our future.

It was a collaborative and productive week as Administrator Carter supported Harris County employees through ongoing conversations about pay equity, while also engaging with organizations dedicated to improving family health, expanding behavioral health access, and strengthening community wellness initiatives.

Our team also participated in a disaster preparedness event hosted by the Office of Commissioner Lesley Briones, Precinct 4 and visited the Houston TranStar headquarters to discuss hurricane preparedness and regional emergency response efforts. We were also honored to attend the Harris County Precinct 2 ribbon-cutting of the Foundation of Hope in Channelview.
