We recently picked up a second load of food, drinks and sundries from One More Child’s new Compassion Center here in Jacksonville. We’re so excited to be partnered with One More Child, who serves foster children, single mothers, children facing hunger, survivors of human trafficking and vulnerable families. Thank you One More Child!!

We know this is inconvenient since it’s the first week of summer, and we’re sorry to be unavailable to families in need right now.

Sewing Hope for DESC has been hard at work creating handmade items for some of our youngest clients. These gifts are more than fabric and thread. They’re reminders that someone cares. And they are just so cute!

We’re so grateful for the time, talent and love this wonderful group shares with DESC and the families we serve.

There are a lot of ways to teach children kindness.

At Northwestern Legends Elementary School, students, parents, faculty and staff recently collected seven large boxes filled with new socks and underwear for DESC clients. Then Larry and Pearl Roziers, through the Mitch22 Foundation, added two more huge boxes to help even more families.

These are some of the most-needed items at DESC, and this generosity will provide comfort, dignity and encouragement for children and adults facing difficult days. Thank you for showing Jacksonville what compassion looks like.

Today, we honor and remember.
On this Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the lives of the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country. Their courage and selflessness will never be forgotten.
We hold their families close in our hearts, praying for comfort and strength. We also pray for peace in our nation and in our world, that we may live in a way that honors their sacrifice.
