Individuals with intellectual and developmental differences are our partners in discovering possibilities for a fulfilled life. Together we unlock potential for achievement at home, at work, and at play. The Arc Jacksonville believes we all have the right to be in community and to make personal decisions about how we live, learn, work and play. Each day, we help more than 500 people discover and unlock the possibilities within themselves. At the same time we help those who support adults with disabilities make informed choices about services and service providers. Join us on this journey toward the possible.

Behind every milestone is a community that cares.💙

This year, we’re celebrating incredible anniversaries at The Arc Jacksonville—from 10 years of belonging at The Village to 20 years of transforming lives through the On-Campus Transition (OCT) Program at UNF. And as we look ahead to our annual Dinner with Bill & Friends dinner, we’re reminded that none of these milestones would be possible without one powerful force: VOLUNTEERISM. 🙌

Volunteers give their time, talents, and hearts to help create opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental differences (IDD) to live, work, learn, and thrive. They strengthen our programs, bring our community together, and help turn possibilities into reality.

As we celebrate how far we’ve come, we’re honoring the people who help make it all happen. Because when a community shows up for one another, brighter futures grow. 🌻

Meet our 2026 Trailblazer of the Year, Kami Downey! 🌻

A proud resident of The Arc Jacksonville Village, Kami is showing what’s possible through independence, employment, and community leadership. From securing a job at Tropical Smoothie Cafe to welcoming new residents and visitors as a Village Ambassador, Kami is making a difference and paving the way for others.

Named in honor of longtime advocate and board member Jason “Moose” Hamilton, the Trailblazer Award celebrates individuals who lead by example and create new opportunities for themselves and others.

Career exploration looks a little different at Eat Your Yard!

Our High School High Tech (HSHT) students from The Broach School – Orange Park got hands-on learning about sustainability, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and the many career opportunities that grow from them. 🌱

HSHT is a year-round program for students ages 14–22 with varying abilities. Funded by The Able Trust, the program has been shown to increase confidence, strengthen self-advocacy, and support successful transitions after graduation.

We love giving our students opportunities to get outside the classroom, explore new interests, and connect learning to the real world!

🏡 We recently welcomed State Representative Jessica Baker, who represents the district where The Arc Jacksonville Village is located, for a firsthand look at our community!

We enjoyed sharing how our programs are creating opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental differences (IDD) to live, work, and thrive in their communities. 🌟

From expanding innovative housing options to addressing the evolving needs of the people and families we serve, we discussed the future of disability services and the importance of building solutions that are meaningful, sustainable, and centered on the people who matter most. 🤝

Thank you to Representative Baker for taking the time to visit, and to our board member Leyda Cooksey and supporters Noreen and Brian Wynne for being part of this important conversation!

Together, we're building stronger communities where everyone has the opportunity to belong.

🎨💛 Jackie Through the Eyes of Our Fall Intern, Ozni Foxglove! 🖌️

Some smiles have a way of brightening a room, and Jackie’s is unforgettable! For National Disability Employment Month, we’re celebrating the people who make our workplaces special and remind us that employment is about so much more than a job.

✨Jackie is the longest working Triumph Industries employee and is one of our community home residents here at The Arc Jacksonville. Inspired by Jackie’s beautiful smile, our intern, Ozni Foxglove, captured her contagious joy in a watercolor portrait.

We’re so grateful for people like Jackie, who bring their own light to our community every day. Here’s to celebrating the people behind the smiles and the possibilities that grow when everyone has the opportunity to shine! 🌻
