We'll be at Montclair Village Farmers Market this Sunday, 9am-1pm, spreading the word about OFSC, giving out information and answering questions on wildfire preparedness.

We'll be ready with resources and answers around Zone 0, home hardening, defensible space, Firewise, insurance, AC Alert, Genasys Protect (Know Your Zone) and more.

Defensible space work in progress! Softer ground from recent rains made it easier to pull weeds that would become a fire-hazard when dry. These invasive grasses are setting seed heads NOW (thousands of foxtails!) – removing them completely is also a preventative measure to reduce next year's "crop".

Next on the wildfire preparedness to-do list – cutting back vegetation from the fence!
