💙 Happy Father’s Day to every dad and father figure who shows up, lifts others up, and leads by example. Thank you for continually striving to be a mentor, a role model, and a source of inspiration so you can inspire your kids and those who come after them!

🏘️ On my block, a house is currently listed for $1.2 million. After a typical down payment, Zillow estimates the monthly payment would be around $7,140. That’s simply out of reach for most working families, young professionals, and first-time homebuyers.

We’re in the midst of a serious housing affordability crisis. Younger generations are increasingly concerned that the California Dream is unattainable. In Pasadena, renters now make up roughly 60% of households, compared with about 40% in past decades — a dramatic shift that reflects how difficult it has become to buy a home.

That’s why I support “missing middle housing.“ We need a range of housing alternatives not just in our city but across Southern California. We need to bring homeownership back within reach of working families.

✊🚶Today, I stood with hundreds of residents who took to the streets for the Hands Across Dena demonstration, uniting in defense of the members of our community living in fear of ICE. The work isn’t over just because the most brazen tactics have been toned down! I hope you’ll join me in supporting and other local organizations working to support immigrant families. Be on the right side of history — and the right side of defending our neighbors in their time of need!

🔵 The June 3rd U.S. Army urban warfare training operation that lasted until after 2 am at the former St. Luke’s Hospital in a Pasadena residential neighborhood raises troubling questions.

The Eaton Fire literally burned homes to the ground across the street from where army helicopters, flash bangs, and gunfire were inflicted on the survivors. At a time when masked, armed ICE agents operating in unmarked vehicles have kidnapped people off our streets, it’s not paranoid to ask why here and why now? As a Councilmember, I will be seeking answers about this operation and accountability from the Department of “War.”
