Happy Juneteenth! Today is not only a celebration of the end of slavery in our country, but of our never ending commitment to fighting all forms of injustice.
Now more than ever, it is crucial that we continue to stand up for freedom and our values of equity and inclusion.
Caught up w/my old colleague Kevin Kiley on Chris Cuomo’s show, and I argued that politicians like himself and Trump lying about voter fraud and the accuracy of our elections erodes voters’ faith in our democracy. This was before Trump’s unhinged meltdown on national TV yesterday.

On Gun Violence Awareness Day, we recommit ourselves to ending gun violence in our communities.
California continues to lead the way with commonsense gun safety laws that save thousands of lives every year. This year, I am proud to author legislation to hold firearm dealers accountable, and ensure that there are consequences for irresponsible dealers who break the law and endanger the lives of Californians.

If California is going to meet its ambitious climate goals, we need to make the transition from fossil fuels to cleaner energy more affordable.
That’s what my bill, AB 2313, does by providing homeowners with support to electrify their homes. This will lower bills for ratepayers while protecting the environment, a win-win.
We must do everything we can to prevent su***de.
That’s why I authored AB 2003, to provide life-saving su***de prevention training to ensure our students, teachers, administrators, and parents have the tools necessary to support young people in need.
AB 2003 passed the Assembly with unanimous support and is one step closer to becoming law.

Today we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our freedoms. Their courage and sacrifice safeguarded the liberties we enjoy today and inspire us to never take them for granted. We remember their legacy, honor their families, and remain forever grateful.

Children’s Health Council has been a literal lifesaver for young people and their families in my district and beyond, providing mental health services, expert led learning programs, and more.
I am honored to recognize CHC as AD 23’s Nonprofit of the Year, for the support and compassion they provide to young people and their families.

What a fun morning with the 4th grade students of Covington School, Los Altos! It was an honor to show them the Assembly Floor, and answer some great questions from these bright students!
Thank you to everyone who made the trip up to Sacramento!

Notwithstanding getting puked and pooped on before 7am, it was a fun Friday in the district! Talked about the need for affordable housing (and all housing!) at a Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo County policy breakfast, spoke about the desperate need for increasing our healthcare workforce at the exciting announcement of a new medical school via a partnership with Santa Clara University and Sutter Health, and then attended the 31st annual Mountain View Chamber of Commerce Celebration of Leaders and Athena Awards!
