California’s new vehicle market posted its first quarterly gain of 2026 in Q3, with registrations up 3.9 percent year over year. Hybrids hit a record 22.8 percent market share through September, and virtually all of them were sold through franchised new car dealerships. ZEV share eased to 17.3 percent in Q3, down slightly from 17.9 percent in Q2 as CA’s MyFirstEV program rolls out. Read CNCDA’s Q3 2026 California Auto Outlook at the link in our bio.
