California Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse (CALA) is a not-for-profit, non-partisan grassroots movement dedicated to fighting lawsuit abuse in California.

CA CALA Executive Director Victor Gomez recently joined The Andy Caldwell Show to talk about a growing issue impacting California small businesses: lawsuit abuse.

From ADA “drive-by” lawsuits to abusive Prop 65 and PAGA claims, too many small business owners are being hit with costly litigation that often does little to improve accessibility or consumer protection — but does threaten jobs, investment, and local businesses.

Thank you to Brian Reisinger and The Andy Caldwell Show for the opportunity to discuss why California needs balanced reforms that protect both consumers and honest business owners.

The ADA Loophole Flooding California With Lawsuits: Who Is Being Targeted? | California Insider 05/13/2026

California small businesses are under attack from abusive ADA lawsuits that often prioritize quick settlements over real accessibility improvements.

This week, CALA Executive Director Victor Gomez joined California Insider with The Epoch Times to discuss Senate Bill 84 — legislation aimed at creating a fair “notice and cure” process that gives business owners an opportunity to fix violations before being dragged into costly litigation.

Accessibility matters. Compliance matters. But California’s current system is being exploited in ways that hurt family-owned businesses, restaurants, retailers, and local job creators across our state.

SB 84 is about restoring balance, protecting accessibility rights, and stopping lawsuit abuse.
