Meeting Monday looks a little different next month… 📆

This June, the LAFCO Commission will not be having its regular meeting on June 1. We will instead be having a special meeting on June 15 at 8:15 am. 📣 We’ll be meeting at our normal location, 1600 Pacific Highway, Room 302, San Diego, CA 92101.

We’re flowing along with our MSRs and the latest draft just surfaced:

Wholesale Water Service Agencies - Part One: San Diego County Water Authority. 🌊

This draft is the first portion of a larger report assessing how San Diego County Water Authority and Metropolitan Water District of Southern California independently deliver wholesale water service across the county. 💧 A public Hearing on this draft will be held at the May 4, 2026 Commission Meeting. 📅

We want your eyes on our latest MSR! 🫵

San Diego County LAFCO invites all interested parties to review and provide written comments on a draft municipal service review covering the Carlsbad subregion with specific focus on the City of Carlsbad and Carlsbad Municipal Water District (MWD). 🌊
 
Written comments received on the draft by Friday, May 29, 2026, will be incorporated into preparing a final document for action at a separately noticed public hearing.

At Monday’s meeting, the commission elected Commissioner Kristi Becker as Chair, and reelected Barry Willis to Vice Chair.
 
LAFCO staff extends a congratulations and cannot wait for all that this next chapter has in store!
