May is Foster Care Awareness Month!

This month, we recognize the thousands of children and youth in foster care who need safety, stability, healing, and hope. We also want to thank the incredible Resource Parents, relatives, social workers, mentors, and community members who step up to support children and families every day.

At Main Street Youth & Family Services, we are committed to providing hope and healing to children, youth, and families through foster care, mental health services, supportive housing, and family support programs.

Right now, there is a continued need for compassionate individuals and families willing to open their hearts and homes to youth in foster care. Whether you become a Resource Parent, mentor, volunteer, donor, or advocate, you can make a meaningful impact in a child’s life.

Together, we can help children feel seen, supported, and loved.

Help us create a warm, welcoming, and loving space for children in foster care to reconnect and visit with their biological families.

At Main Street Youth & Family Services, we believe every child deserves a safe and comforting environment during family visits. These moments can play an important role in healing, connection, and reunification.

We’re inviting our community to help us transform our Visitation Rooms into spaces that feel calm, child-friendly, and full of care. To make it easy to support this project, we created an Amazon Wishlist filled with ideas and needed items to help create a comfortable space for children and families.

From toys and books to cozy seating, games, sensory items, and décor, every donation helps make a difference.

Check out our Amazon Wishlist and help us create a space filled with comfort, hope, and connection.

In a recent episode of Voices of Main Street, we shared the story of a young person who came into our Youth Workforce Development Program looking for an opportunity - and left with a future.

Through hard work, guidance, and hands-on experience, they discovered a passion for the trades… and today, they’re thriving in their career and building a path for long-term success.

This is what it’s all about - creating opportunities, building confidence, and helping youth turn potential into purpose.

We’re so proud of the growth and success we get to witness every day!
