Hackham West Children's Centre

The children in the Over 3’s room have been happily immersed in a range of engaging learning environments, exploring new ideas, developing friendships, and building their skills through hands-on experiences.

Today we hosted our Hackham West Children's Centre Christmas Lunch of Roast turkey and ham and vegetables. We celebrated together as a whole Centre in the Over 3's room. Thanks to Amy once again for creating another delicious & nutritious lunch!

Last Friday we gathered at the Centre for our End of Year Families Christmas celebration

Last Saturday 29th November staff and families generously donated their time to our Centre’s Busy Bee to help refresh our outdoor spaces with pine bark and sand for the sandpits. There were plenty of jobs and our kind helpers did it all with a smile on their face, laughs and enjoyed some delicious cake baked by our Centre Chef Amy. A big thank you to all who helped on the day!

We are excited to update our Hackham West Children’s Centre community with current progress on our new centre building. Last Friday the concrete slab was poured for the foundation of our new learning facility and we proudly share a few photos.

The Over 3’s room children have been reflecting on Remembrance Day by engaging in sensory play dough with coloured rice and rosemary. The Under 3’s room have been painting a group mural using their handprints.

The Over 3 children have been encouraged to try a range of fruits and vegetables as they learn about growing foods in the garden with the story From the garden. The children have then put their learning into practice as they helped plant vegetables in our garden beds.

The Under 3 children have been busy painting and enjoying sensory exploration.

Happy Early Childhood Educatos Day to each and everyone one of the amazing team at Hackham West Children’s Centre!

This week our team had an after-hours training session with Hourglass Time Education. Together, we explored the planning cycle in depth, focusing on how we can use our professional knowledge to plan more effectively for individual children’s learning. We are really excited to begin rolling out the Hourglass Time programming approach and to continue strengthening the meaningful connections we share with our children and families.
