A huge thank you to Mr. Derrick Oriaifo, Area Manager – Financial Accounting at Western Power, for an engaging and lively guest lecture that brought auditing to life in a way no textbook ever could!
Derrick is no ordinary practitioner. A CA, FCCA Fellow, Certified Fraud Examiner, and Board Member of the 100 Women Public Ancillary Fund WA, he brings a rare depth of cross-sector experience, having worked in senior finance and assurance roles cross blue-chip multinationals and industry leaders including Deloitte, Coca-Cola HBC, Scott Park Group, and Kinetic IT.
That breadth of exposure gave our students a front-row view of the full arc of professional practice: ethics, assurance, client evaluation, risk assessment, testing approaches, and audit reporting — all grounded in real scenarios, real decisions, and real stakes.
We love challenging our students to think beyond the lecture slides, connect their learning to the real world, and glimpse what's genuinely possible with the right academic support alongside them.

Sheridan Institute of Higher Education is very pleased to have been part of Discover Perth: Agent Education Week 2026, an initiative by StudyPerth and the City of Perth.
Along with the rest of WA education providers, we had the pleasure of welcoming 30 senior education agents from Sydney and Melbourne and showing them firsthand what Perth and WA's education sector are truly all about.
Perth is a wonderful place to study and live, and programs like this give us the chance to share that story with agents who play such an important role in shaping students' futures. We hope they left with a genuine sense of what makes this city so special.

Congratulations to our wonderful graduate, Connie, who has completed her Bachelor of Business and earned a place on the Dean's List along the way.
Though Connie couldn't join us at the April ceremony to receive her award in person, we want to take a moment to celebrate her!
We will miss her smile, her little treats from travels, and her generous support of the Sheridan Student Association.
Like every graduate, we will miss her presence — it is bittersweet, and all the sweeter for it. We can't wait to see where life takes you next, Connie!

Over the past few weeks, we've been out visiting Ashdale Secondary College, Peter Moyes Anglican Community School, Kennedy Baptist College, Bunbury Baptist College, Fremantle Christian College, Warwick Senior High School, as well as attending the South West Careers Expo.
We love meeting students and their parents face-to-face! We love to hear students’ aspirations, life goals and dreams. We also love to inspire some to think about their purpose and what they want to achieve after graduation.
We also loved the warm invitations from the schools to be part of your communities. It certainly meant a lot to us.
