Albert Dock is the most-visited free tourist destination in North West England, home to world-class museums, galleries, restaurants, bars and shops. Located in a spectacular World Heritage waterfront setting, Albert Dock is the largest collection of Grade I Listed buildings in the UK. Attractions include Tate Liverpool, the Beatles Story, Merseyside Maritime Museum and International Slavery Museum. Visitors can enjoy a short break with two hotels to choose from, plus a selection of bars, cafés and restaurants to suit every palate, plus a range of independent gift shops to browse.

✨ We’ve loved seeing the dock through your eyes this River of Light 2026

📸 You’ve been tagging us in some brilliant photos over the past week, and with one final weekend to catch the lights, here are a few of our favourites so far

There’s even longer to enjoy the lights this weekend, with River of Light now illuminating the city from 4pm–9pm

It’s a lovely time to wrap up, head down to the waterfront and make an evening of it. See the lights, wander the docks and stop for something to eat or drink along the way.

For those who prefer a calmer experience, Quiet Hour takes place on Sunday from 4pm–5pm, with reduced sound and other sensory elements where possible.

⚠️ River of Light update

Due to the yellow weather warning and damage caused overnight by Storm Boelo, River of Light has been cancelled for today, Sunday 25 October.

The event is currently expected to return tomorrow, Monday 26 October, subject to conditions.

Please check for the latest updates before travelling.

‼️ RIVER OF LIGHT: WEATHER UPDATE FOR SUNDAY 25 OCTOBER ☔

Due to a yellow weather warning remaining in place until 9pm this evening, Sunday 25 October’s River of Light event has been cancelled in the interests of safety.

Some remedial works to installations are also required following damage caused overnight by Storm Boelo.

With improved weather conditions forecast for Monday 26 October, tomorrow’s event is currently expected to go ahead as planned.

180 years of memories ✨

We're bringing our 180th anniversary celebrations to a nostalgic close with a special projection that combines photographs submitted by you with rarely seen archive images.

From working warehouses to the dock’s regeneration and Eurovision celebrations, take a trip from 1846 through to the present day.

The projection will be displayed from 7:30pm to 10pm until Wednesday 21st October on the facade of the Maritime Museum. Head down to the inner quay, relive some special memories and make a night of it with dinner and drinks at one of our bars and restaurants.
