The National Police College of Jamaica (NPCJ) hosted the Batch 165 Drill Competition at its Twickenham Campus, where trainees demonstrated discipline, teamwork, confidence, and commitment through a series of competitive drills and displays of excellence. The Constabulary Communications Network (CCN) held a two-day sensitisation and photography training workshop from June 11–12, 2026, under the theme “Capturing the Story, Shaping the Narrative, Strengthening the Brand.”
The workshop opening featured Senior Superintendent Dahlia Garrick, Commanding Officer of CCN, who outlined the workshop’s clear objectives and expectations.
This training, coordinated and moderated by Ms Kayla Keane, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), featured an incredible lineup of experts.
The session started with Ms. Nathelie Taylor, who focused on the role of the CCN Liaison Officer in sustaining strategic branding. Sergeant Ryan Clarke and Constable Phillip Dennis, covered the Principles of News Photography.
Day one ended with Senior Superintendent Dennis Brooks, who explored Writing for Impact, from incident reports to storytelling and media releases, emphasizing clarity and public engagement.

Lawmen assigned to the Hanover Policing Division have charged three persons with Possession of Prohibited Weapon and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition following an operation in Santoy District, Green Island in Hanover on Saturday, June 13.
The three, who are all from Santoy District, Green Island in Hanover, have been identified as:
• Thirty-six-year-old disc jockey, Nicholas Gordon, otherwise known as ‘Jucky’
• Twenty-two-year-old deliveryman, Duwain Patterson
• Forty-eight-year-old janitor, Princess Clayton
Reports from the Green Island Police are that at about 6:30 a.m., a team of police personnel conducted an operation in the community. During the operation, the house was searched, and a Browning pistol with a magazine affixed containing five 9mm rounds was found. All three persons were taken into custody.
On Monday, June 15, they were charged after a question-and-answer interview was conducted in the presence of their attorneys.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Richard Stewart is representing the Commissioner of Police, Dr. Kevin Blake, at the 11th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference currently taking place in Montego Bay, St. James. He joins Prime Minister, the Most Honourable Andrew Holness. He will participate in a panel discussion alongside Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Security and Peace, the Honourable Dr. Horace Chang, Chief Cyber Security Expert Dr. Patrick Linton of the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA), and Ms. Shauna Trowers, Crime Prevention Director at the Ministry of National Security and Peace, to speak on the topic of 'Security and Public Safety: Working together as we continue to build a safer Jamaica'. The plenary session will be moderated by Senior Superintendent of Police Dennis Brooks, JCF's Communication Strategist of the Constabulary Communication Network.
