🌀🌴 HURRICANE SEASON STARTS TODAY! 🌴🌀 June 1st marks the official start of Atlantic Hurricane Season, and now is the perfect time to make sure you and your family are prepared before a storm is on the horizon.

✅ Create a hurricane preparedness plan
✅ Review evacuation routes and emergency contacts
✅ Gather important medical information and prescriptions
✅ Stock up on emergency supplies
✅ Make a plan for pets and special needs family members
✅ Prepare your home for severe weather

If you don’t already have a hurricane preparedness plan for your family or business, now is the time to create one. A strong preparedness plan should include contact information for everyone in your household, important medical information and prescriptions, designated emergency meeting locations, evacuation routes, and strategies for protecting your home before severe weather arrives.

🚧 REMINDER: Roundabout Construction Begins Tomorrow 🚧 The new roundabout construction at CR 235 and Newberry Lane begins tomorrow, June 1st.

⚠️ Expect traffic pattern changes and detours in the area. Newberry Lane will remain open to local traffic only.

Detour Routes:
🟢 SR 26 → Hwy 27 → NW 78th Avenue → CR 235
🔵 SR 26 → NW 202nd Street → NW 46th Avenue → CR 235

Hometown Hero Level Up:

Alright folks, it’s been awhile since the Hometown Hero title has been officially awarded, so you know something big must have happened.

Last night, at the 8th grade social (lifelong memories are on the line!), and there is a DJ hiccup. Does disaster and disappointment win the day? Do kids go home crying because their 8th grade social was ruined?…..not on Josh Taylor’s watch!

With one phone call, he stepped in at the last moment and literally saved the day!

He dropped what he was doing and refused to let the kids miss out on the tradition and the memories, and for that, he is once again a Hometown Hero!

Josh, as a father of an attendee, who’s son was looking forward to his first dance with his first girlfriend, thank you for making that happen for him and all the other kids of our community!

Your heart for this community is treasure for us all! Thank you, sir!
