June 1, 2026 || The Baybay City District Jail, under the guidance and supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, and the leadership of SJO4 Mark Anthony B Cabojoc, Acting District Jail Warden, actively participated in Brigada Eskwela 2026 at Gaas Elementary School, Barangay Gaas, Baybay City, Leyte.
Upon arrival, BCDJ personnel coordinated with Ms. Niezel C. Pertimos, School Head, regarding the activities to be undertaken in support of the program. Thereafter, the team rendered volunteer service through various school clean-up, repair, and maintenance activities aimed at preparing the school facilities for the opening of classes.
The activity highlighted the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology's commitment to community service, volunteerism, and educational development. Through the collective efforts of school stakeholders and BCDJ personnel, the initiative contributed to creating a safer, cleaner, and more conducive learning environment for learners.
Moreover, the activity strengthened the partnership between the Baybay City District Jail and the local educational community, reflecting the Bureau's dedication to fostering positive community relations and supporting programs that promote the welfare and development of students.

June 1, 2026 || The Baybay City District Jail, under the guidance and supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, and the leadership of SJO4 Mark Anthony B Cabojoc, Acting District Jail Warden, actively participated in Brigada Eskwela 2026 at Baybay II Central School in support of the Department of Education's annual initiative to prepare school facilities for the opening of classes through volunteerism and stakeholder collaboration.
In coordination with Ms. Suzie E. Enerlan, Brigada Coordinator, Ms. Myra M. Managbanag, GPTA President, and Dr. Elvira M. Kirong, Principal II, BCDJ personnel rendered community service by assisting in various clean-up and maintenance activities within the school premises. These included sweeping and cleaning designated areas, clearing overgrown vegetation, proper waste disposal, and beautification efforts to help ensure a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment for students.
The activity also strengthened the partnership between the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and the education sector, promoting the values of volunteerism, cooperation, and shared responsibility in community development.
Through its participation, the Baybay City District Jail reaffirmed its commitment to supporting programs that contribute to educational advancement and community welfare. The activity concluded successfully at about 10:45 AM with no untoward incident reported.

June 1, 2026 || The Baybay City District Jail, under the guidance and supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, and the leadership of SJO4 Mark Anthony B Cabojoc, Acting District Jail Warden, actively participated in the Kick-Off Ceremony of Brigada Eskwela 2026 at Baybay City Senior High School through JO1 Joksian P. Trapela, Community Relations Service (CRS) Officer.
The activity brought together various stakeholders from the government, private sector, and community to strengthen partnerships in preparing a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment for students. Highlights of the program included the introduction of Brigada Eskwela stakeholders, the State of the School Address delivered by School Principal Ms. Grecelda A. Montalban, and an inspiring message from Hon. Rolando Alcala, SGC President, emphasizing the importance of volunteerism, unity, and shared responsibility in supporting quality education.
Through its participation, the Baybay City District Jail reaffirmed its commitment to community engagement and nation-building initiatives that contribute to the welfare and development of the youth.

June 1, 2026 || In support of the continuing campaign to promote peace, order, and public awareness, the Baybay City District Jail - under the guidance and supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, and the leadership of SJO4 Mark Anthony B Cabojoc, Acting District Jail Warden, conducted an information dissemination activity and distributed leaflets on Anti-Illegal Drugs Awareness and NTF-ELCAC to the public.
The activity aimed to educate community members on the harmful effects of illegal drugs, encourage vigilance against criminality, and raise awareness of the government's initiatives in addressing insurgency and promoting sustainable peace and development through the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
Through the distribution of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, the Baybay City District Jail strengthened its partnership with the community by providing relevant information that empowers citizens to become active participants in maintaining peace, security, and social responsibility.
This initiative reflects the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology's commitment to community engagement and public service, fostering a well-informed and resilient society anchored on unity, awareness, and shared responsibility.
