If you are an Irish citizen in a genuine emergency situation and in need of urgent consular assistance, please call 00 351 213308200 and leave a message on the Duty Officer voice mailbox stating your name, phone number and give a brief description of the emergency.
A consular officer will call you back as soon as possible in cases of genuine emergencies.

Celebrate Bloomsday 2026 by grabbing a free book by an Irish writer on a bench in Avenida da Liberdade, right across from the Embassy of Ireland.
Grab your copy and post a picture with and tag us.
Books will be distributed at 9am and 1pm on 16 June.

⚠️Warning
A nationwide general strike in Portugal is scheduled for this Wednesday 3 June. Major disruptions are expected on public transports, public services and on flights.
Please check your flight status with your airline before heading to the airport.
Plan alternative routes and allow significant extra travel time.
Monitor local news and transport authority announcements for updates.

Ambassador Alma Ní Choigligh visited St Julian’s and met Anton Tohill, who was in Lisbon as part of the Gaelic Games Europe (GGE) Player Exchange Programme. Anton Tohill, a Derry GAA footballer, is a qualified Medical Doctor and Movember Ambassador, for his outstanding contribution to young people through sport and mental health. The Ambassador also welcomed Anton Hill at the embassy where he met the team.
This visit coincided with GAA Portugal and Lisbon Celtiberos GAA announcement of a collaboration with St Julian’s School, Carcavelos, under which the school will make its impressive sports facilities available to the club for regular training sessions and future competitions and tournaments.
The new agreement with St Julian’s School is a further important milestone in building a secure and quality home for the growing membership.
