Steady day for the Nation's Ford firehouse. The gang took in a first-due dwelling fire this morning. Good work by all 🤙🏼

Firehouse 20 headed to a townhome fire in SouthPark a few weeks back. Charlotte Fire Alarm was on the line with a victim trapped on the second floor when the phone went silent. Companies pushed on the fire while Ladder 16 made a VES for the rescue. Engine 20 made the victim’s room and worked with Ladder 16 to bring the unconscious patient down the stairs — kept her low where the air was clean — and out the front door. The patient’s dog was also brought out safely. Word from the hospital was that the patient was conscious and recovering. BC 5 had command. Strong work by all on the box.

Heavy fire greeted first arriving crews at a dwelling fire in the Ballantyne area of South Charlotte this morning. Firehouse 20 emptied out — BC 5 and E20 on the initial, Ladder 20 on the second alarm. Three homes were affected.

Another busy night for the Nations Ford Crew. Last night, the house emptied out and headed to South Park for a house fire on the initial alarm assignment. The incident eventually escalated to two bells.

Battalion 5 held command while Ladder 20 went to work opening the roof before heading inside to hook ceilings and open walls. Engine 20 initially took up RIT duties before later transitioning to a hoseline and going to work.

A big addition to a busy firehouse!

The Engine gained a sibling; Ladder Company 20 went into service over the fall. With this addition, it's helping balance call volume and improving coverage around the area. With the Engine often tied up on other calls, it caused other companies to respond to our area to pick up additional calls; this fixes that problem.
