Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park's staff are hosting a one‑hour campfire cooking program where participants can learn fire safety, explore the history of Lodge cast iron, and try a tasty campfire treat. Registration is required, and only 15 spots are available.

Come with us and learn about the different deaths and diseases that tore through Tennessee. During this unique opportunity, we will discuss some of the deaths that occurred and why they are so important to us now, as well as how medicine was shaped into what it is today!

This tour will be at night and shouldn't be longer than two hours. We will meet at the River Wall near the Visitor Center. Online registration is required. Come prepared with a flashlight, good walking shoes, and the desire to learn more about Tennessee's history!

Have you walked past our pollinator garden lately and thought “whewww- what a mess!”

You might be surprised to know it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. Our pollinator garden aficionado and former State Horticulturalist Bill Tolbert was there just this morning “dead heading” a few plants and leaving the pulled items in the garden to re-seed for next year’s sprouts. Pretty soon, the garden will go completely dormant and settle in for the winter with hopes for an even more vibrant garden next year!
