The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is now hiring for Utility Plant Operator 2 positions!

This role is vital to the day-to-day operations of the Power House, helping ensure the safe and reliable production of steam that supports hospital operations.

Minimum Qualifications:
• One year of semi-skilled experience operating, maintaining, or repairing industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment; or
• An equivalent combination of work experience and post-secondary training that includes at least six months of qualifying semi-skilled experience.

This is a great opportunity for individuals with mechanical aptitude and utility plant experience who are looking to build a career with the Commonwealth.

Attention child care providers: You can now apply for bonuses of at least $540 for staff through the Child Care Staff Recruitment and Retention Program!

Governor Josh Shapiro’s 2026-27 budget includes a $5 million increase for the program – a total of $30 million – to support Pennsylvania’s child care workforce for the second year.

To receive this year’s funds, providers must complete an application through their Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC) before the November 30, 2026, deadline.
