CARB’s newly appointed Environmental Justice Advisory Committee recently met for the first time on August 31, marking the start of a new term focused on community-centered climate and air quality work. The committee met again on Sept. 30.
The committee brings together members from communities across California with the highest pollution burdens, continuing the committee’s vital role in advising CARB on the Scoping Plan and other key Assembly Bill 32 issues.
In the August meeting, Committee members toured South Sacramento to connect directly with residents and see local air quality challenges firsthand. During the September meeting, committee members met with Buttonwillow community members and other Bakersfield area partners.
