Move with purpose. Lead with confidence. Train as a team! 🪖💪🇺🇸

Roadrunner Cadets from A Company at UTSA took their leadership development into the field during Leadership Lab, focusing on individual, team, and squad movement.

Effective leadership begins with mastering the fundamentals. Through hands-on training, Cadets strengthened their communication, situational awareness, coordination, and ability to operate as a cohesive unit.

From individual movement to squad-level ex*****on, every training opportunity reinforces the importance of discipline, teamwork, accountability, and trust. Success on the battlefield starts with mastering the basics and understanding that every Soldier plays a critical role in accomplishing the mission. 🎯

As training progresses, A Company Cadets continue developing the confidence, technical skills, and leadership abilities necessary to become future Army Officers.

Master the fundamentals. Build the team. Lead the way! 🔥

Developing Future Leaders. Strengthening the Roadrunner Battalion! 🇺🇸🪖💪

The Roadrunner Battalion had the honor of welcoming COL Timothy W. Decker, Commander of 5th Brigade, U.S. Army Cadet Command, and CSM Jacob Gilmer to the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA)!

During their visit, the Brigade Command Team engaged with Cadets, cadre, and university partners, gaining firsthand insight into the Battalion’s training, facilities, continued growth, and commitment to developing the next generation of Army Officers.

For our Cadets, this visit was more than an opportunity to meet senior Army leaders. It was a chance to gain valuable perspectives on leadership, professionalism, accountability, and the responsibilities that come with earning a commission in the United States Army. 🎖️

Leadership is developed through experience, mentorship, and a commitment to excellence. Every interaction with senior leaders reinforces the standards, values, and expectations our Cadets must embrace as future Army Officers.

We extend our sincere appreciation to COL Decker and CSM Gilmer for their leadership, mentorship, and continued support of the Roadrunner Battalion and its mission.

One Battalion. One Mission. Developing Leaders for Tomorrow’s Army! 🔥

Roadrunner Cadets returned to the Engagement Skills Trainer (EST) for their second training session, continuing to sharpen their marksmanship fundamentals.

Cadets practiced firing positions and worked through simulated engagements under the guidance of their instructors. Each repetition provided an opportunity to apply feedback, refine their technique, and build consistency in a controlled training environment.

Training builds proficiency. Repetition builds confidence. The work continues.

Know where you are. Understand where you need to go. 🧭

Roadrunner Cadets focused on land navigation during Leadership Lab, developing the map-reading and navigation fundamentals required for confident movement in the field.

Land navigation demands attention to detail, patience, and sound decision-making. Cadets practiced interpreting terrain, using available information, and making deliberate decisions to navigate from one point to the next.

For our Cadets, land navigation is more than an individual skill. It builds the confidence and competence required to lead others, make decisions under pressure, and guide a team toward the objective.

Readiness is built through consistent work. 💪

Roadrunner MSI through MSIII Cadets completed an Army Fitness Test (AFT), using the assessment to measure their current level of physical readiness and identify areas for continued improvement.

The AFT is more than an assessment. It provides Cadets with a baseline to evaluate their performance, set realistic goals, and focus their training moving forward. Consistent preparation, recovery, and individual responsibility remain essential to building and maintaining readiness.

The Roadrunner Battalion continues to emphasize physical readiness and disciplined preparation throughout Cadet development.

Excellence doesn’t stop when training ends. This summer, Roadrunner Cadets continued setting the standard both in uniform and beyond it. 🇺🇸

We would like to recognize Cadet Le, who, while at Fort Knox, completed the final requirements for his Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, graduating Summa Cum Laude while continuing his coursework throughout camp.

His hard work and academic achievement also led to his selection for the Texas Armed Services Scholarship, following his appointment by Texas State Representative Jon Rosenthal. The scholarship recognizes Texans pursuing higher education while preparing for future service as military officers.

These accomplishments reflect the commitment Roadrunner Cadets make not only to developing themselves as Army leaders, but also to pursuing excellence academically, professionally, and in service to others.

Congratulations to CDT Le on his achievements and for continuing to represent the Roadrunner Battalion at the highest level.

The work continues.

A new rank and a well-earned milestone. 🇺🇸🎉

The Roadrunner Battalion proudly congratulates Master Sergeant Daniel Silva on his recent promotion from Sergeant First Class to Master Sergeant.

As a member of our cadre, MSG Silva plays an important role in training, mentoring, and developing the next generation of Army officers. His promotion reflects another milestone in his Army career and gives the Roadrunner Battalion an opportunity to celebrate alongside one of our own.

Congratulations, MSG Silva, on this achievement and thank you for your continued service to our Cadets and the Roadrunner Battalion! 👏🇺🇸

One step closer to contracting. 📊💪

Roadrunner Cadets working toward contracting completed an Army Fitness Test (AFT), demonstrating their physical readiness and meeting an important requirement in the contracting process.

The AFT challenged Cadets across the Army’s physical fitness standards while reinforcing the discipline, preparation, and individual accountability expected of future Army officers. For these Cadets, every event represented more than a score. It was another step toward earning the opportunity to contract and continue their development in Army ROTC.

With the test complete, Cadets can build on their results, continue improving their physical readiness, and focus on the remaining requirements ahead. 💪🏃

Another requirement down. Another step forward. ✅
