In Texas, we're all too familiar with how school vouchers are siphoning taxpayer dollars from public schools, but after the budget reconciliation bill, H.R. 1, passed last summer, the first national tax-credit voucher program is now threatening to weaken public education further and divert billions of dollars to private and religious schools.

Over 18 statewide elected officials, along with Texas’ members of Congress, state lawmakers, district-based judges and local elected officials are up for election. This is your last chance to Vote Public Schools First in the primary!

If you've already voted, thank you! Please advocate for your family and community to vote; historically, in Texas primary elections, a relatively few people make big decisions that affect all of us.

These last two days we, SW TSTA, have been at the New Teachers Orientation to see and welcome all new teachers to our district for the new 25-26 school year. We are excited to have them at our district!! Please welcome your new teachers and encourage them to join the union. Don’t forget to drop by our table during Convocation.
