Herman Hirsch Elementary School opened its doors in 1960. The school was built to service the Dellcrest neighborhood. Mr.

We believe that all students deserve an amazing education that we set them up for a bright future The school was named for a beloved educator named Herman Hirsch. Hirsch was born in Fredericksburg in 1870 and later moved to San Antonio, where he resided for 55 years. He worked for Crockett elementary, first as an educator, and then as a principal for 31 years. Hirsch was known for his hard work and dedication and for never missing a day of school. The school was built in his name, to serve the families of the Dellcrest neighborhood. Our elementary students feed into Davis Middle School and Sam Houston High School.

Board president Alicia Sebastian invites the District 2 community to a meeting Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. at Sam Houston High School. Community members can meet new Superintendent Dr. Adrian Bustillos and learn about the latest projects, accomplishments, and key updates happening across District 2.

💣 A new bombshell has entered the villa! 👀🎉

As our students continue working hard to practice and demonstrate our Habits of Success, they’ve also been practicing another important skill—saving! 💰🐾

Many of our students have started saving 50+ H.O.S. tickets, so we’ve added another cart to our H.O.S. Store featuring some exciting new items they can work toward earning! 🛍️✨

Keep it up, students! Continue practicing those positive habits, saving those tickets, and striving for your best! 🌟

Happy Friday! 🐾🎉 Our students are excited to spend their Habits of Success (HOS) tickets at today’s HOS Store!

Throughout the week, students earn HOS tickets by demonstrating the habits that help them become successful learners—being respectful, taking responsibility for their actions, persevering, striving for accuracy, engaging positively, and always doing their best work.

The HOS Store gives our students a fun way to see that positive choices, hard work, and consistency are worth celebrating! We’re proud to see our Huskies continue building habits that will help them succeed in school and beyond. 🌟

Our 5th graders here at Hirsch Elementary were celebrated by their teachers this past week for their academic growth! 🎉📚

Core Value #1 at is that all students can learn and reach their potential, and these students are doing exactly that. Great job to our 5th graders for demonstrating their commitment to growth and success! 🐾✨

We look forward to celebrating even more of our students’ progress throughout the year as we continue preparing them for the 2035 workplace competencies!
