🚨 Major Narcotics Seizure Stemming From Probation Work

What began as a routine probation contact turned into a multi‑agency narcotics seizure valued at over $2.1 million — thanks to the sharp instincts and investigative skill of Ventura County Probation Agency Deputy Probation Officer.

When Jason Klausmeyer reported for his probation appointment, DPO coordinated with the Simi Valley PD‑PROS Officer to conduct a vehicle search. Her proactive decision resulted in locating:

2 kilograms of ketamine
$8,000 in U.S. currency

This discovery set off a chain of events that ultimately exposed a large‑scale drug manufacturing and trafficking operation.

Later that evening, detectives executed search warrants at the suspects’ San Clemente residence and storage units, seizing:

85,000 counterfeit Adderall pills (methamphetamine)
25,000 Ecstasy pills (M**A)
30 lbs. of ketamine
1 lb. of fentanyl
7 lbs. of co***ne
10 lbs. of psilocybin
Over $27,000 in cash, gold, and silver

The suspects were arrested and booked on multiple narcotics‑related charges.

This case is a powerful example of how probation officers’ vigilance and field expertise directly protect our communities. DPO actions were the catalyst for dismantling a major narcotics pipeline operating across Orange, Los Angeles, and Ventura Counties.

We also extend appreciation to our partners at Simi Valley Police Department, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, and Costa Mesa Police Department for their coordinated efforts.

👏 Outstanding work to all of our officers involved!

Ventura County Probation leadership and staff recently joined community members, educators, faith leaders, and youth advocates at a Community Listening Session hosted by the African American Clergy Coalition at Bethel AME Church in Oxnard. Facilitated by Dr. Linda McKenzie of Global Empathy Training Academy, the session focused on concerns around racial discrimination, hate speech, and violence impacting Black students and families in local schools.

Probation remains committed to supporting collaborative solutions that help create safer, more inclusive school environments through partnership, accountability, and listening to the voices of impacted students, families, and communities.

Members of the VCP Youth Equity Initiative team also assisted with capturing community feedback shared throughout the evening to help inform future conversations and next steps.

“It was an honor to stand alongside youth and families speaking about the impact of racism and discrimination in our schools. Real culture change requires long-term commitment, accountability, and meaningful inclusion of youth and community voices.”
