Anyone who's tube fed deserves to feel special and celebrate their uniqueness. Using button pads and line covers are the perfect way to do this and show just how amazing tube feeding can really be. Tubie Fun was created after my youngest son was tube fed since 2 months old due to an extensive list of medical problems and has since had a feeding button placed for long term use. I started making button pads to replace the hospital gauze that sat around his site. These button pads have many positive benefits. They are more comfortable to wear, they keep the feeding site dry and clean, they can reduce the chances of granulated tissue forming and most of all, to reduce the ongoing costs associated with tube feeding as they are reusable. The line covers are also a great way to keep little mouths off the connection points and also a useful tool to ensure all the connections stay together. Many people find tube feeding quite confronting. Using a button pad takes the focus off the medical device itself and provides an opportunity to show personality and individuality while reducing anxiety around the feeding process. I am a mum to 3 beautiful boys who have taken the tube feeding of their brother in their stride. With the toll of having a sick child starting to affect me, I decided to dust of my sewing machine as a way to unwind and let go of the problems of the day. I thought if this was a way I could help my son and family, why not let it help someone else as well. If you are searching for something but can't find it, please feel free to contact me. 💙 Invisible Disabilities Week | 18–24 October

Not every disability is visible. And not every struggle can be seen from the outside.

For many people in the tube-feeding community, there is so much more going on than what meets the eye.

You might see a child playing, laughing and enjoying life, but not the fatigue, pain, muscle weakness, swallowing difficulties, medical appointments or the constant care and planning that happen behind the scenes.

You might see a feeding tube, but not the complex medical needs that come with it. Or you might see someone who looks “fine” and have no idea what they’re navigating every single day.

💛 Invisible disabilities are real.
💛 You don't have to look unwell to be struggling.
💛 And just because you can't see someone's challenges doesn't mean they aren't there.

This Invisible Disabilities Week, we're encouraging everyone to look beyond appearances, listen without judgement and offer understanding rather than assumptions.

Because everyone deserves to feel seen, believed and supported — whether their disability is visible or invisible.

Let's keep making space for the stories, challenges and experiences that aren't always obvious to the outside world.

💙 NATIONAL CARERS WEEK | 11–17 OCTOBER 💙

Behind so many tube-feeding journeys are parents, partners, siblings, family members and friends who give so much of themselves to care for someone they love.

Caring can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be exhausting, isolating and overwhelming. And sometimes, in the middle of looking after everyone else, carers can forget that they need care and support, too.

This year's National Carers Week theme is *“Care for a carer: Making carers visible.”* It’s a reminder that carers deserve to be seen, heard, appreciated and supported — not just this week, but every week. 💙

To every parent, partner, family member and friend caring for someone in our community: we see you. We recognise the love, time and energy you give, often behind the scenes, and we hope you know that what you do matters.

This week, check in on a carer you know. Offer a helping hand, give them space to talk, or simply remind them that they don't have to do everything alone.

And if you're a carer yourself, consider this your reminder that you matter, too. You deserve support, rest and time for yourself.
