CELEBRATING THE PEOPLE AND SKILLS SHAPING KENYA’S LIVESTOCK SECTOR🎓
The National Beekeeping Institute – Lenana continues to stand in solidarity with fellow Livestock Training Institutions (LTIs), joining their graduation celebrations this week.
Today, we were at AHITI, Nyahururu, for a ceremony graced by Dr. Mary Agutu, CEO of the Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB), as Guest of Honour representing Hon. Sen. Mutahi Kagwe, Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development.
In her address, Dr. Agutu reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening LTI infrastructure, staffing and technology, including affordable housing for students and the role of agricultural training in promoting modern farming, value addition, agribusiness and food safety, contributing to GDP growth, job creation and poverty reduction.
Representing LTI Principals, Ms Karen Mwangi, Principal of NBI–Lenana, delivered a keynote address congratulating the Animal Health graduands on their achievement and the milestone they have reached and also highlighted the existing training gap in apiculture, underscoring the need to strengthen skills development in the beekeeping sector.
The graduation season continues, with NBI–Lenana set to celebrate its graduands on 3rd November 2026. 🐝🎓
Congratulations to the AHITI graduands!
