Flights, hotel stays and getting around a new destination are all part of travelling for healthcare. ✈️

Through an MoU with longstanding ecosystem partner AirAsia MOVE, MHTC is bringing added travel benefits to eligible medical tourists and their companions visiting Malaysia.

From savings on flights and hotel bookings to SNAP! flight-and-hotel packages and AirAsia Ride airport and city transfers, the offers make it easier to plan and manage different parts of their visit. Promotional codes will be available through MHTC member hospitals for redemption via the AirAsia MOVE app.

Representing both organisations at the signing were YBhg. Dato’ Suriaghandi Suppiah, Chief Executive Officer of MHTC, and Lim Ben-Jie, Chief People and Partnerships Officer of AirAsia MOVE.

Healthcare and travel may be different industries, but MHTC shares a common goal with AirAsia MOVE: making every part of the visitor experience count. This partnership brings greater convenience and value to those choosing Malaysia for their healthcare needs.

Advancing Johor’s healthcare travel ecosystem and unlocking growth in Southern Malaysia. 🇲🇾

Johor’s growing role in healthcare travel presents an opportunity to connect quality medical care with the wider economic development of Southern Malaysia, including the region’s tourism, hospitality and service sectors.

On 28 October, the Johor Medical Tourism Committee convened its first meeting of 2026 to discuss the strategic direction of the Johor Medical Tourism Council (JMTC), review the state’s medical tourism performance and identify priorities for the sector’s continued development.

Bringing together representatives from government agencies and healthcare institutions, the meeting reflects the importance of a coordinated ecosystem in supporting Johor’s ambitions as a competitive healthcare destination.

As Malaysia advances its healthcare travel agenda under MYMT2026, Johor’s development adds another dimension to the national landscape. With the right capabilities, connectivity and coordination across sectors, healthcare travel can contribute not only to patient access and experience, but also to broader economic growth in the southern region.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month may be coming to a close, but awareness should never stop. 🎗️

may be coming to an end, but the importance of early detection continues. Keep the conversation going, stay informed and make breast health a year-round priority.

Beyond treatment: Building a more complete patient journey at MAHSA Hospital.

A healthcare experience does not end when treatment is complete. Recovery, lifestyle support and long-term wellbeing are equally important in helping patients navigate their journey with confidence.

During a recent visit to MAHSA Hospital, MHTC met with CEO, Dato' Dr. Anitha Haniffa and her team to learn more about the hospital’s multidisciplinary capabilities and its approach to patient care.

With strengths in bariatric surgery, cardiology and orthopaedics, MAHSA is also exploring how step-down care, lifestyle support and wellness services can complement clinical treatment. Programmes such as KUURUS and RAMBUT reflect this broader approach, connecting medical care with support for recovery and wellbeing.

As Malaysia’s healthcare travel offering continues to evolve, approaches that consider the patient journey beyond the hospital stay can help create a more comprehensive healthcare experience.

MHTC looks forward to supporting MAHSA’s continued development as it grows its capabilities across healthcare and hospitality.

Apples, oranges and strawberries aren't just for your fruit bowl. This , they're here to remind you to get familiar with your normal.

From changes in breast size and shape to skin dimpling, redness or ni**le changes, knowing what’s normal for you can help you notice when something is different.

Not every change means cancer, but don't ignore anything new or unusual. Speak to a healthcare professional if you notice a change, and remember that breast awareness doesn't replace recommended screening. Because looking after your health starts with paying attention.
