As the Scholars Leadership Camp 2026 came to a close, MIMAROPA scholars celebrated their graduation after an enriching journey centered on the core values of Professional Excellence, Social Responsibility, and Servant Leadership.

Through engaging discussions, meaningful activities, and inspiring stories from speakers and fellow scholars, participants strengthened their commitment to lead with integrity, serve with purpose, and create positive impact in their communities.

On the final day of the Scholars Leadership Camp, through the insights shared by Prof. Michael Charleston “Xiao” Chua, the inspiring testimonies of invited alumni scholars, and various meaningful activities, MIMAROPA scholars reflected on the essence of Servant Leadership, understanding that true leadership is rooted in service, humility, and a commitment to uplifting others.

We are proud to welcome you to the growing family of DOST Scholars in MIMAROPA, as you begin your journey in contributing to science, technology, and innovation for the service of the Filipino people.

As DOST scholars, you will receive the following support:
✅ Php 8,000 monthly stipend
✅ Php 40,000/year tuition support (for private institutions)
✅ Php 10,000/year learning materials or connectivity support
✅ Php 1,000 clothing allowance (one-time)
✅ Php 10,000 thesis allowance
✅ Php 1,000 graduation allowance
✅ One round-trip economy-class fare per year (for out-of-province studies)
✅ Group health and accident insurance

• Qualifiers with an asterisk (*) beside their name are subject to revalidation of information/documents. Some names have also been temporarily withheld pending submission of required documentation. Concerned applicants will receive further instructions from DOST-MIMAROPA.
• All successful qualifiers will receive a 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 via their registered email with details on the required orientation and signing of the Scholarship Agreement.

MIMAROPA scholars from different home provinces braved the journey to Puerto Princesa and embraced new beginnings on the first day of the Scholars Leadership Camp.

Day 1 marked the start of growth, connection, and leadership among young scholars across the region as they participated in various activities and gained valuable insights from different speakers.

Centered on the theme of Professional Excellence, the sessions encouraged scholars to develop competence, discipline, and leadership qualities essential for their future careers and service to the nation.

The camp is led by the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) in collaboration with DOST – MIMAROPA.

Tinalakay ni DOST-MIMAROPA Regional Director Dr. Bernardo “Aido” N. Sepeda ang kahalagahan ng pananaliksik at pagpapakatao, at kung paano makatutulong ang mga ito sa pagpapalawak ng panlipunang kamalayan tungo sa ganap na pag-unlad ng ating bayan. Ito ang kanyang naging mensahe bilang panauhing pandangal sa State Universities and Colleges Teacher Education Association- Region VI (SUCTEA-VI) International Conference sa Iloilo ngayong hapon.

Binigyang importansya rin niya ang papel ng mga unibersidad at kolehiyo bilang sentro ng pananaliksik at pagtuturo ng mga makabuluhang bagay na maglilingkod sa lipunan. Kasama rin dito ang kahalagahan ng wika sa pagbuhog ng kultura, kasarinlan, at kamalayan, hindi lang ng isang tao kundi ng buong bansa.

Ipinapakita ng naging partisipasyon ni Director Sepeda sa SUCTEA-VI International Conference na ilan sa mahahalagang sangkap ang pananaliksik at pagpapakatao, para sa mas inklusibo at makataong kaunlaran.
