The Capiz provincial government is partnering with the PCIC Regional Office 6 to expand the Calamity Crop Insurance Project for 2026. During a meeting on March 23, 2026, officials discussed broadening coverage to include sugarcane, livestock, and fisheries under the Calamity Crop Insurance Program.

The proposed expansion follows a successful 2025 performance that insured 3,853 farmers and covered over โ‚ฑ124M in assets. By adding high-value crops and aquaculture to the framework, the province aims to provide a stronger safety net for local producers against the impacts of climate change.

Celebrating National Womenโ€™s Month with a focus on health and community, the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) Regional Office VI organized a series of engaging activities throughout March 2026. The festivities began on March 17 at the Iloilo City Esplanade, where personnel gathered for an afternoon fun walk along the scenic riverside. This activity transitioned into an energetic Zumba session, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and physical wellness among the staff while honoring the vital role of women in the agency and the agricultural sector.

This commitment to women's well-being continued on March 26, 2026, as PCIC Region VI personnel attended an insightful Zoom forum titled "Her Changing Seasons: Conversations on Perimenopause and Menopause to Support Women's Health and Well-Being." Organized by the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), the UP Gender and Development Program, and UGSAD The Regional Gender Resource Network of Western Visayas, the webinar provided essential knowledge on navigating different stages of women's health.

To formally conclude the monthโ€™s celebration, PCIC Region VI conducted a simultaneous appreciation activity on March 30 across its Regional Office and all Extension Offices. During this event, walk-in clients were greeted with commemorative tote bags and snacks as a gesture of gratitude for their continued partnership.

By integrating fitness advocacy with frontline service, the regional team successfully highlighted its commitment to both its employees and the farming and fishing communities of Western Visayas.
