Today, April 29, 2026, the Meet and Greet with USM and CMU-based GREAT Scholars is being held at the University of Southern Mindanao. The activity is graced by University President Dr. Jonald D. Pimentel, who extended a warm welcome to all participants, together with SOXAARRDEC Consortium Director Dr. Julius Jerome G. Ele.
Also present are representatives from USM, including Graduate School Dean Dr. Elmeir Estilloso and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Leorence C. Tandog, along with project leaders Dr. Edward A. Barlaan, Dr. Lorelyn Joy N. Turnos-Milagrosa, Dr. Mark Al-Jaime J. Muttulani, and Dr. Tamie C. Solpot. Representing DOST-PCAARRD are Dr. Fezoil Luz C. Decena, Director of the Institution Development Division (IDD), Ms. Annette M. Tobias, Ms. Precious D. Libit, and Ms. Dreamelyn V. Ragasa, together with technical division representatives Dr. Dalisay Cabral (FERD) and Ms. Allisa Carol Ibbara (CRD).
As part of the programβs monitoring and evaluation efforts, seven GREAT scholars are presenting updates on their respective research, highlighting progress, key challenges, and future directions across the crops, forestry, and environmental sectors, alongside their advisers and project leaders. The activity serves as a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and constructive dialogue among scholars, mentors, and stakeholdersβreinforcing the GREAT Programβs commitment to strengthening the countryβs science and technology workforce.

πππππππππ πππ: Today marks the last day of the 5-day Training-Workshop on Data Analytics for the Future (DAF) X at Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Science City of MuΓ±oz, Nueva Ecija.
The DAF X participants celebrated the final day of the workshop by showcasing their outputs. The day focused on sharing insights with one another, along with valuable input from the resource persons. Five selected participants were also given the spotlight to present their key takeaways from the training.
The program concluded with messages from CLAARDEC Consortium Director Dr. Emmanuel M. Vera Cruz, and DOST-PCAARRD Institution Development Division Director Dr. Fezoil Luz C. Decena, followed by closing remarks from PCAARRD-OED-ARMSS Deputy Executive Director Dr. Melvin B. Carlos.

πππππππππ πππ: Day 4 of the 5-day Training-Workshop on Data Analytics for the Future (DAF) X at Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Science City of MuΓ±oz, Nueva Ecija.
UPLB Assistant Professor Dylan Antonio S.J. Talabis introduces Orange Data Mining to (DAF) X participants. Orange Data Mining is an open-source tool that allows users to analyze and visualize data through a simple drag-and-drop interface, making it easy to explore datasets and gain insights without extensive coding.

πππππππππ πππ: Day 3 of the 5-day Training-Workshop on Data Analytics for the Future (DAF) X at Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Science City of MuΓ±oz, Nueva Ecija.
UPLB CDC Assistant Professor Miguel Victor T. Durian opened the day with a course on βData Visualization and Infographics,β introducing key design principles and techniques for creating effective infographics.
This was followed by a workshop led by UPD University Extension Specialist Dr. John Vincent J. Bucal on βDashboarding and Visualization,β where participants engaged in hands-on exercises that reinforced concepts from the previous DAFX courses.
