We know many residents care about Tampines Skate Park and that it has remained an important space for our youth, even as Tampines develops to meet the changing needs of residents. We recognise the importance of retaining this community space and are exploring the available options to support its continued use.
We have been working on this matter since feedback was received in June this year. Since then, we have completed a review and assessment of the existing equipment, sought quotations, and are now evaluating various repair and replacement options to determine the best way forward.
With permission to use the land currently granted only until 2028, we are exploring options to extend its use. We are also considering how the space can be improved to better serve the community, while ensuring that any investment is sustainable in the long term.
In the meantime, we have barricaded the affected area for public safety.
We recognise that the process has taken time and appreciate the patience and understanding of park users.
We remain committed to finding a sustainable way forward and will keep residents updated as plans develop.
*The skate park is currently closed for maintenance.
