It's officially spooky season! From inventing your own creepy crawlies to concocting volcanic experiments, our students dressed up, solved crazy maze puzzles, and "played with their food" today. Our annual Volksmarch was a Thriller and brought out all the ghouls, characters, and action figures. Our spooktacular Big Top events are wrapping up, but not before we squeeze out a few more smiles. We hope you all have a fun, safe, and howling good weekend. Don't forget to set your clocks back for an extra hour of rest after your weekend festivities. Happy Halloween, Thunder!!

The Big Top has arrived at DCCES, and the fun is in full swing! From the main attractions and delicious treats to exciting sideshows and amazing entertainers, there’s something for everyone under our circus tent!

We would like to invite our feeder school strand and to join our circus hijinks!

This weekend is the perfect time to create your🎃 storybook pumpkin for the annual Library Pumpkin contest. We can't wait to see how creative everyone can be! Submissions should be brought in on Monday morning, October 26th.

Get ready for a spook-tacular time at our Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 24th from 5-7pm in the high school, rain or shine... or zombie apocalypse! 🎃🚗

Families and children over 10 are also welcome to attend the Haunted Theatre event. There will be a $5 cash charge to enter the Haunted Theatre. All proceeds will be donated to Care and Share.

Students can bring a favorite book to life in the 17th Annual Pumpkin Contest. Create a decorated or carved pumpkin, bring it to the DCC Elementary Library on Monday, Oct. 26.

🎨DISCOVERY CLASS SPOTLIGHT: ART THAT TELLS A STORY!

History is taking shape in Mrs. Wood’s Art Studio! Our 4th-grade students are connecting their Unit of Inquiry that explores how interactions and experiences shape communities to the ways artists express a community’s beliefs and values. As they investigate Egyptian art as artifacts, they’re discovering how ancient communities used art and storytelling to honor their members. Now, each student is creating a one-of-a-kind papier-mâché mask with designs and symbols that tell its own story.
