From the Colorado Department of Transportation -

From Friday, June 12 at 7 p.m. through Monday, June 15 at 5 a.m., Colorado Highway 52 will be closed to all traffic just east of Weld County Road 21 while crews replace a drainage pipe beneath the highway. Due to the deep excavations required within a narrow work zone, a full highway closure is necessary to safely install the large pipe.

Local access to properties between WCR 21 and WCR 23 will be maintained from the east only. A signed detour for through traffic on CO 52 will direct motorists to use I-25 on the west and US Highway 85 on the east to either CO 7 or CO 66 to bypass the closure.

CO 52 will be open this weekend (June 5-8). This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule is subject to change. Message boards along the corridor and the project hotline (720-743-0775) will provide the latest schedule updates.

The super load has been delayed.
Engineers are currently recalculating weights, and at this time there is no updated timeline for movement.

Highway 52 will be closed in both directions from Weld County Road 31 to Weld County Road 37 from approximately 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
A temporary bridge will be installed to accommodate the movement of a super load traveling to the Xcel gas facility in Fort Lupton.
🚧 Expect significant delays as the vehicle moves slowly along Highway 52.
➡️ Detour Route:
WCR 37 → WCR 18 → WCR 31
Please plan ahead, use alternate routes, and allow extra travel time.
