Thanks to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science for hosting SCFD's Board meeting in May - and for the behind-the-scenes tour of the museum archives! At this meeting, Tier I funded partners presented highlights from their annual certification reports and SCFD's Board of Directors approved Resolution 26-04 pertaining to the budgeted distribution of $50.9 million in grants to Tier I organizations!

This summer, Tiffany Ogburn is joining the SCFD team as our new Digital Media and Marketing Intern! She'll be helping to elevate SCFD and our funded partners through content creation, social media management, and digital marketing efforts over the next few months. Tiffany is an immersive theater artist and dancer with a BFA in Dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She has danced professionally with Andrea Miller's Gallim Dance and Stephen Petronio Company, and performed in immersive theater productions with Sleep No More NYC, Oddknock Productions, Casa Bonita, and Third Rail Projects' Sweet & Lucky: Echo produced by the DCPA's Off-Center. She brings that creative energy to social media, working with the local non-profit Presenting Denver and now SCFD. Welcome, Tiffany!

It's Free Day Friday!! Here's a list of free days for the whole family around the metro area this weekend:
May 15: The Mizel Institute's The Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (The CELL) will offer free admission from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
May 16: Colorado MahlerFest is hosting a free symposium on topics related to their season's theme, "Reinvention: Channeling Change into Creativity". Talks begin at 10 a.m., with coffee available during the morning and lunch included! Swing by for just one session or the whole symposium at eTown.
May 17: Colorado Youth Bands' Spring Concert will take place on Sunday from 3:00 - 5:30 at Lakewood High School.
May 17: The Highlands Ranch Concert Band's big band group, Swing Shift, will perform a free concert at the Highlands Ranch Senior Center at 3:00 p.m.

It's National Concert Day! We are proud to support many nonprofits in the region who provide concert experiences for district residents, from classical music to bluegrass. Recently, SCFD staff and board members went to a wonderful performance of Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" and more as part of SCFD Night at the Colorado Symphony.
