📊 Student success should be measured—and our students are making progress.

At USD 308, we believe accountability matters. Our district has been measuring student success and tracking outcomes to understand where our students are thriving and where we can continue to improve.

Our students are meeting and exceeding benchmarks established by the State of Kansas, and we're seeing encouraging progress in key areas:

🎓 91.2% graduation rate — up from 86%.

📚 60% Grade 3 reading proficiency — up from 50%.

📈 18.8% chronic absenteeism — down from 30.6%.

These numbers tell an important story about the work happening in our classrooms and the progress our students are making.

Our strategic plan provides a roadmap for continuing that work. Every bond dollar is aligned with the goals already established in USD 308's 2024–2028 Strategic Plan. The proposed Graber projects go beyond an addition.

The 2026 bond proposal also includes:

🏠 Roof replacement
❄️ HVAC improvements

Along with the proposed storm shelter, gym, STEM & band addition, these projects represent the facility improvements identified for Graber in the current bond plan.

We'll keep sharing information as families learn more about the proposed bond and what it could mean for our school.

Join Hutchinson Public Schools for a School Bond Community Meeting to learn more about the proposed $36 million, 12-year bond and the projects it would support across USD 308.

This is the last of the community meetings. It will be held at HCTEA, 800 E. 15th Circle on Wednesday, October 28th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The bond focuses on improving the schools and facilities we already have and includes no new buildings. Proposed projects focus on key needs throughout the district, including safety and security improvements, HVAC and roofing projects, and food service improvements.

These informal meetings are an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and share your thoughts. Knowledgeable USD 308 staff will be available to answer questions, and attendees can view maps, see additional project details, and learn more about the work proposed at schools throughout the district.

Whether you have specific questions or simply want to be informed before Election Day, we invite you to stop by.

All events start at 6:00pm and are a come and go style of event.

What could the 2026 bond mean for Graber Elementary? 💙💛

The proposed bond includes several projects specifically for Graber:

🏫 Storm shelter, gym, STEM & band addition
🏠 Roof replacement
❄️ HVAC improvements

These projects would address several areas of our current facility and add space designed for different student and school needs.

We’ll continue sharing information about the proposed projects so Graber families can learn more.

Please join us November 11th, 2026 at 7:30am to 8:00am for breakfast as we honor our Graber family veterans and their service to our country! Your student will be sent home with a flyer that can either be filled out and returned to their teacher or you can scan the QR code and RSVP that way.
