We were proud to have our team ready to engage the community during Juneteenth celebrations! The Juneteenth Block Party hosted by the African American Museum of Philadelphia was a success! Many signed up for reentry services.

Congratulations to Uplift Solutions for the 6th annual Transforming Justice Conference, a day filled with powerful moments, education and reaffirmation on doing the hard work to affect change.

We were proud to join them to announce and celebrate our 2026 Microgrant recipients.

This is our third distribution of our Microgrant Initiative to support and empower grassroots organizations who center the people we serve and navigate reentry at the ground level. Seven organizations received $20,000 each this year, critical resources needed to build infrastructure and capacity in delivering reentry services which include: housing, civic engagement, family reunification and more.

On Friday we celebrated another Gateway to Success cohort of graduates who made the decision to invest in themselves and their futures! Many have already secured employment with employers such as the Navy Yard, Coca-Cola and many others after completing workforce training opportunities supported through the program.

Gateway to Success, created under Executive Director Assata Thomas, is 3 weeks of life-skills training infused with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy before participants embark on their chosen career track!

We’re proud of to celebrate and elevate our graduates especially during June, Philadelphia Reentry Awareness Month.

Special thanks to our facilitators, Chief Public Safety Director Adam Geer, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker, Council President Kenyatta Johnson, Michael Robinson, Senator Sharif Street, and Asa “Spado” Burberge for their leadership, partnership, and commitment to our participants.

Philadelphia City Council formally recognized June as Reentry Awareness Month in 2019, citing the intersections of reentry as a social, public safety, community and economic issue. Every day, hundreds of thousands of Philadelphians come home from federal, state, and local prisons and jails. They begin the process of returning to our communities, raising families, seeking employment, and trying to build stable lives.

In June we celebrate the returning citizens who show up every day with resilience and determination and work to bring awareness as well as honor the providers, employers, advocates, and faith leaders doing this work alongside us.

Today the PRC hosted Mural Arts Philadelphia for an interactive workshop on restorative justice and restorative practices! Thank you to restorative practitioner and artist Joseph Iacona, who lead these trainings to enhance those working with reentry participants and community programs.

Awesome turnout for today’s record clearing clinic in partnership with Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity (PLSE), Uplift Solutions, and Covenant House Health Services. More than 50 men and women joined us to begin exploring the record clearing process!
