Created by the City & County of Sacramento to revitalize communities & create affordable housing. All offices are closed every other Friday.

SHRA is Sacramento's lead public and affordable housing agency and one of the largest residential rental property owners in Sacramento. SHRA manages over 3,100 units of affordable housing and administers approximately 13,000 rental assistance vouchers each month. SHRA uses a variety of financing tools to expand housing opportunities by rehabilitating and preserving older properties, building new rental and ownership housing, and boosting homeownership through mortgage assistance. SHRA has assisted in the production of more than 24,300 affordable housing units in the past 20 years. SHRA works proactively to create permanent supportive housing with social service partners for the hardest to house, and finds solutions to uplift disenfranchised communities. SHRA business hours are 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday by appointment. SHRA has developed a policy for social media. The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines for appropriate use of SHRA sponsored social media sites. Content that is in violation of this policy may be deleted. 8,325! That's the number of diapers the Housing Authority distributed to families in October through our community partnership with Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. The Diaper Distribution Program provides free diapers for each child every Thursday from 9am to 4pm at Marina Vista, 251 Seavey Circle and Pointe Lagoon, 5251 Young Street, Sacramento. The new Dos Rios Station is now open on the Blue Line, providing new light rail service to the River District area. Because the new station provides service that duplicates bus route 33, SacRT will discontinue bus route 33. The last day of bus route 33 service will be Friday, October 9, 2026. Beginning Monday, October 12, 2026, SacRT will introduce bus route 133, a new commuter bus route that will operate one morning trip, Monday through Friday. https://www.sacrt.com/DosRios/

Great day celebrating with and to cut the ribbon on the Homekey conversion of Madison Square Studios formerly Super 8 Motel. This 118 unit permanent supportive housing community brings formerly homeless people off the street providing a full array of resources, case management, and life skills, substance abuse and mental health counseling tailored to their needs so they can successfully navigate their way back to stability and a better quality of life.
SHRA provided $17.3M from State HCD funding and 118 in rental assistance with project based housing choice vouchers. Welcome Home!

SacRT is inviting businesses and community members near the new Dos Rios Station across from Mirasol Village to join them for a Community Safety Walk & Talk on Wednesday, September 23, from 12:30–1:30 p.m. at 16th Street between Richards Blvd. and Sproule Ave. This will be an opportunity to meet with SacRT staff, walk the area around the new station, share safety concerns or observations, and learn more about SacRT’s safety and security resources.
