We strive to ensure that SCYD is a safe space for Sacramento’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community. One where people can celebrate their identity, stand up to protect their rights, and advocate for change.

The Democratic Party is the party of LGBTQ+ rights and we will always stand up to uphold equity, belonging, and inclusion for all.

The purpose of the SCYD Mentorship Program is to provide additional professional development opportunities for our members and build stronger pathways for late-career members to pass on knowledge to early- and mid-career members.

We have professionals in every facet of government and can place mentees and mentors together based on interests and career goals.

Yesterday, SCYD lobbied for the annual Lobby Day! Alongside , we met with local elected representatives, such as Senate Majority Leader Ashby and Assemblymember Krell, to advocate for building more homes, transit-oriented development, and zoning reform!

We are proud to stand among a broad statewide coalition of individuals and organizations to resolve California’s housing crisis!
