The University of Mumbai organized an insightful awareness program on the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam with the aim of promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality.

Chief Guest Shri. Mukul Kanitkar (National Organising Secretary, Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal) delivered an inspiring address highlighting women-led development and the importance of awakening inner potential. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ravindra Kulkarni reiterated the University’s strong commitment towards nurturing women empowerment and fostering inclusive progress.

Four students from University of Mumbai's affiliated colleges shared thought-provoking perspectives on social and cultural barriers to women’s representation, the role of women in politics and bureaucracy, and the challenges of under-representation. Their insights emphasized the transformative vision of the Adhiniyam and the vital role of women in shaping society.

The program concluded with a collective resolve to support initiatives that enhance women’s participation and leadership across all sectors.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Central Training and Placement Cell (CTPC) of the University of Mumbai are organizing a lecture session on 8.04.2026 by:

🗂️ The theme of topic is: 'ACU Member Institutions:Funding Schemes, Academic Mobility Programs & Collaborative Research Opportunities for Faculty and Students'

🏢 The Venue is: Garware Institute of Career Education and Development Auditorium (Old Building)

Time: 2.30 pm – 4.30 pm - 8.04.2026

The lecture session of approximately an hour will be followed by an interactive question-and-answer segment. The session will focus on the various funding schemes, academic mobility programs, and collaborative research opportunities available for faculty and students within ACU member institutions.

The University of Mumbai holds a distinguished position as a founding member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), and it is expected that the insights from the session will be immensely valuable in enhancing awareness about the diverse research funding opportunities and collaborative initiatives available through the ACU network, which comprises over 400 member universities across more than 40 countries.

It is also expected that this session will significantly contribute to strengthening our ongoing association with ACU and fostering a more vibrant culture of international academic collaboration.

We invite the faculty members at the University of Mumbai, Research scholars and other students at various departments to join the session.
