The Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, in collaboration with the Social Development Commission (SDC), proudly recognized 56 beneficiary churches in Hanover, which received a combined J$8,495,000 in support.
This initiative reaffirms the Government's commitment to strengthening faith-based institutions that serve as critical community shelters, coordination hubs, and centers of social support during times of crisis and emergency.
Together, we continue to build stronger, safer, and more resilient communities across Jamaica. 🇯🇲💙

Students from six high schools in Hanover will benefit from the new Youth Entrepreneur Programme (YEP), which is designed to equip them with practical business skills and financial literacy.
The programme, being implemented by the Social Development Commission (SDC) in partnership with Infiniti Co-operative Credit Union Jamaica Limited, was launched on Wednesday, April 15 at the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort and Spa in Hanover.
