It was a busy weekend in District 2!

Friday kicked things off with the dedication of Silver Spruce Park in Roseville, the city’s 96th park.

Saturday brought plenty of Halloween spirit as I helped judge the West Roseville Neighborhood Association’s Halloween decoration contest. 🎃

Sunday started at the Fowler Ranch Kids Market, where some great pens were a highlight, followed by a stop at Retro Joe’s coffee truck for its final visit of the year. The weekend wrapped up with the grand opening of Compassion Planet’s new foster youth home, marking an important milestone after their previous home burned down in June 2025.

From new community spaces to local favorites and meaningful milestones, it was a weekend full of what makes District 2 special!

It was great to join PCWA and regional partners today for the groundbreaking of the Ophir Water Treatment Plant, an important investment in western Placer County’s future! This water treatment plant will connect directly to Placer One, including housing, businesses and the future Sacramento State Placer Center.

As our communities continue to grow, planning ahead and investing in critical infrastructure is essential. This project reflects the importance of coordinating water and transportation infrastructure to support planned growth and ensure our communities have the resources they need for the future.

Thank you to PCWA, the City of Lincoln, and our regional partners for working together to move western Placer forward!

On Saturday, we celebrated a major milestone in Placer County’s 175th anniversary with the sealing of a time capsule that will be opened in 2101, when our county celebrates its 250th anniversary!

It was wonderful to see so many people come together to help preserve a piece of Placer County’s history for future generations. The capsule includes letters from elected leaders, historical records, community members’ stories, photos, and items that reflect the people, places, and milestones that make our county special.

I am excited for our future generations to discover what life was like in Placer County in 2026. Here’s to the next 75 years!

We’ve reached another major milestone for the traffic signal project on Sierra College Boulevard and Twelve Bridges Drive!

On Tuesday, my colleagues and I on the Board of Supervisors approved a nearly $12 million project to install a much-needed traffic signal on Sierra College Blvd at Twelve Bridges Dr. This has been a longstanding concern for the community, and I’m glad to see the project moving forward!

This project is a partnership between Placer County, the City of Lincoln, and the South Placer Regional Transportation Authority. Thank you to our partners for helping advance this signal early! The next step is design, permitting, and required environmental review with construction expected to begin in 2027.

It was such an honor to attend and speak at St. Michael's Episcopal Day School's Inauguration of Student Council and Class Representatives! The students ran the whole program and did an incredible job!

I love seeing students getting engaged and caring about their community and schools. These kids definitely have bright futures and are leading by example!

This morning we kicked off the 79th annual Marine Toys for Tots Foundation toy collection in Placer County!

For nearly eight decades, Toys for Tots of Placer County has brought our community together to help make the holidays a little brighter for our local kids and families. Last year, 27,903 toys were distributed across Placer County, benefiting 12,480 children! Thank you to everyone who helps make this tradition possible year after year.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I’m once again sharing a deeply personal part of my story about growing up in a home marked by domestic violence.

Talking about domestic violence is never easy, but there is power in bringing what happens behind closed doors into the light.

This month, may we honor the strength of survivors, support those still walking that road, and remember there is hope beyond the hurt. 💜

And if you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, please reach out for help. You don’t have to walk that road alone.

It was great seeing such a good turnout at the Placer PROTECT town hall at Sun City Lincoln, hosted by my office and the District Attorney’s Office!

Cassidy and Lisa from the DA’s Office did an excellent job sharing information about common scams targeting seniors and how to recognize them. I also want to thank everyone who came out, asked questions, and shared personal stories that helped educate the group. And thank you to District Attorney Morgan Gire for making senior scam prevention a priority and dedicating the necessary resources to help victims and prevent future scams.

If you or a loved one has been scammed or believes you may be the target of a scam, contact the DA’s Office Fraud Hotline at 916-645-7226 or [email protected].
