Georgia Wing, a great resource to help with your cadets first Encampment costs.
CEAP Round Two is open**. Application closes at 5pm Central Time on Monday, June 15th. Unit Commander approval must be completed by this time. Funding is very limited.
**Only for encampments that start on/after July 18th. Cadets who are on the waitlist for CEAP round two encampments do not need to reapply for CEAP. To get funding in round two you must have applied for and be accepted to the encampment listed on the CEAP application. Contact [email protected] with any questions or to make CEAP application changes.

Over Memorial Day weekend, Middle Georgia Composite Squadron members placed flags at Andersonville National Historic Site to honor America’s fallen Veterans. Each flag represented a life of service, sacrifice, and the generations who gave everything for our freedom.

Peachtree City Composite Squadron’s Honor Guard and Color Guard had the incredible privilege of presenting the colors at the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony. 🇺🇸✨
The cadets were able to dine alongside attendees and take in the amazing atmosphere — truly a memorable evening for these outstanding young leaders. 🍽️🌟 They received numerous compliments throughout the night for their professionalism and precision, and we couldn’t be prouder! 👏💙

Some awards deserve an even bigger spotlight — and C/A1C Wiggins of the Statesboro Composite Squadron has certainly earned it! 🌟👏 He was presented with the prestigious Military Excellence Award from the American Legion, a recognition reserved for cadets who exemplify the highest levels of discipline, leadership, integrity, and service. 🏅🇺🇸

🚀 CAP squadrons from across the nation—and even overseas—came together for the CAP/NASA Skywatch Aviation Weather Mission. This collaborative effort between Civil Air Patrol and NASA focuses on atmospheric science, weather monitoring, and aerospace education. 🌎🔭 This marks the second year of the mission following a successful launch in 2025!
The Ellijay Composite Squadron team gathered in Jasper, Georgia, where 5 senior members and 4 cadets worked together under clear skies ☀️
Here’s what the team jumped into:
• Tracked aircraft ✈️
• Recorded cloud observations ☁️
• Photographed airplanes 📸
• Reported data through the mission chain of command 📡
All collected data will be used by NASA to support ongoing research and scientific analysis. The Ellijay team had a fantastic experience and is already looking forward to the next observation date in May!

Georgia Wings Emergency Services Directorate’s Land Search & Rescue (LANDSAR) Cohort 1 spent the day at FDR State Park, GA for a hands‑on training session. This event is part of a 26‑week program that includes 8 in‑person sessions and 18 remote trainings 📚💻.
They focused on;
📡 CAP communications
🤝 Interoperability with partner agencies
🕵️♂️ Missing‑person search techniques
🚑 SAR team coordination with sUAS support
Our sUAS team also trained on search software to help identify potential clues during missing‑person missions 🚁🔍.
A huge thank‑you to LT Curt Williams and LT Andriy Khomenko for coordinating and leading this training 👏🎖️.
