The CA Senate passed SB 1259 - a bill that doesn’t work to keep a single refinery open, but instead forces them to plan their own funerals.

They’re planning for and pressing toward the end of California’s fuel supply - and you’ll pay for it at the pump.

California had a $97 billion budget surplus and chose not to pay down $20B in COVID unemployment debt.

This week I brought an amendment to do it — party line vote, it failed.

Now small businesses face higher payroll taxes to cover it.

We’re already one of the most expensive states to run a business. Adding another $20 billion burden to businesses isn’t economic strategy — it’s another reason businesses leave.

Sacramento wants to spend $20 million honoring former governors — including Newsom himself, who leaves office soon.

Meanwhile, you’re paying the highest rent, gas, and healthcare costs in the nation. These are their priorities. Not yours.

They say they care about affordability.

Then they vote to raise your costs.

Every. Single. Session.

Gas. Groceries. Everything.

Hard-working Californians deserve better than empty words.
