We have successfully concluded the second and final batch of our Program Updates on the Strengthening of Family Planning Service Delivery. This session brought together our dedicated nurses and midwives who continue to demonstrate their strong commitment to delivering quality, client-centered family planning services in their respective areas.
The activity served as an important venue for clarifying program guidelines, addressing field concerns, and reinforcing best practices in FP service delivery. The discussions were highly interactive, with participants actively engaging, raising questions, and sharing meaningful insights that enriched the collective learning experience.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our resource speakers โ Mr. John Doromas, Ms. Pearl Joy Pajoganoy, Mr. Rey John Dionio, and Ms. Christine Anne Yap Yu โ for sharing their expertise and for thoroughly addressing all questions raised during the session.
Our sincere gratitude also goes to our Provincial Health Officer II, Dr. Maria Socorro Quiรฑon, for delivering an inspiring message that encouraged and motivated our health workers. We likewise thank Dr. Rodney Labis for giving the closing remarks and for emphasizing the importance of our continued collective efforts in strengthening family planning services.
With both batches successfully completed, we move forward with renewed commitment to ensuring accessible, effective, and compassionate family planning service delivery across Iloilo Province.

A productive and insightful day at Days Hotel Iloilo for our Program Updates on the Strengthening of Family Planning Service Delivery!
Nurses and midwives from various municipalities gathered to refresh their knowledge, clarify guidelines, and share best practices in providing quality family planning services. The activity was filled with interactive discussions โ participants eagerly asked questions, shared their experiences, and exchanged ideas, all of which contributed to a deeper understanding of how to further strengthen FP service delivery in their respective areas.

Day 5 | FPCBT Level I Training โ Cabatuan
Weโve officially wrapped up our 5-day Family Planning Competency-Based Training (Level I) in Cabatuan โ and what a meaningful journey it has been!
The final day was filled with both learning and reflection. We started with the remaining lecture on Service Delivery Network, followed by Action Planning where participants crafted practical strategies to strengthen FP services in their areas. Each group confidently presented their action plans, showcasing their commitment to applying their learnings.
Afterwards, participants took their post-test and evaluation, and the training concluded with inspiring closing remarks from Dr. Lonerie Apelo-Regondon, Medical Officer V.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Hermie Pueyo, Municipal Health Officer of Cabatuan, for his initiative to make this training possible. Special thanks as well to Maโam Christine Billones for her overall facilitation, and to the dedicated trainers of iFPTC for generously sharing their expertise throughout the week.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Hon. Elizalde Pueyo, Municipal Mayor of Cabatuan, for taking the time to visit the training and for his inspiring message to the participants. Day 4 | FPCBT Level I Training โ Cabatuan
Day 4 was all about putting knowledge into practice. Our participants showcased what theyโve learned through return demonstrations on family planning counseling.
The group was divided into four, and each team displayed their own unique strengths and areas for improvement. It was inspiring to see their dedication and creativity in applying the G-A-T-H-E-R Approach and counseling techniques.
By the end of the day, everyone walked away with new insights, practical tips, and different techniques that will help them deliver more effective and client-centered family planning services.
Another productive day of learning, growing, and supporting one another!

โDay 3 | FPCBT Level I Training โ Cabatuanโ
Day 3 was another power-packed session! Our participants took on more intense discussions as we explored a wide range of family planning methods and honed essential counseling skills.
๐ The dayโs highlights included:
โข Learning the correct use and importance of condoms
โข In-depth discussions on long-acting and permanent family planning methods
โข Mastering the GATHER Approach, a vital tool in providing comprehensive, client-centered counseling
The energy in the room was inspiring as nurses and midwives actively engaged, asked questions, and sharpened their skills to better serve their clients.
Every day brings us closer to building stronger competencies and more confident health providers for our communities!

Our second day of training was more intensive compared to Day 1, as participants began diving deeper into essential topics.
Participants learned about Infection Prevention, explored Fertility Awareness Methods, and discussed the details of various Hormonal Methods. The sessions were packed with valuable knowledge to strengthen their competency in providing quality family planning services.
This ongoing training is funded by the Cabatuan LGU through the initiative of the Cabatuan Primary Care Facility, headed by Dr. Hermie Pueyo, in partnership with iFPTC.
Looking forward to more meaningful learnings in the next sessions!

The first day of our Family Planning Competency-Based Training (Level I) was a success! ๐ The session was very interactive, with our midwives attentively listening, actively engaging, and raising insightful questions.
This training is funded by the Cabatuan LGU and made possible through the initiative of the Cabatuan Primary Care Facility, headed by Dr. Hermie Pueyo, who requested the iFPTC to conduct this training at the Cabatuan Convention Center.
We look forward to more productive days of learning ahead!

The Iloilo Provincial Government โ Family Planning Training Center through the Provincial Health Office will conduct the Family Planning Competency-Based Training (Level I) on September 23โ26 & 30, 2025 at the Cabatuan Primary Care Facility.

The Iloilo Provincial Government Family Planning Training Center (IPGFPTC), managed by the Provincial Health Office, successfully conducted the Family Planning Competency-Based Training (FPCBT) Level II โ Progestin-only Subdermal Implant (PSI) Insertion and Removal last September 4โ5, 2025 at Citadines Amigo Iloilo Hotel.
A total of 20 health workers, composed of doctors and midwives, completed the 2-day training, which concluded with a practicum at the Di**le Primary Care Facility. During the hands-on session, all participants were able to perform implant insertions and removals for clients, further strengthening their competency in family planning service delivery.
